I heard this a couple weeks ago and ordered a case of DR-16s from Graf's. Got them today and noticed that they're white, not blue. A note in the bags verified that my eyes were not deceiving me.

I'm currently loading 14 grains of Perfect Pattern under 3/4 oz shot in a DR-16 wad. Crimps are dished enough so that I've taken to dropping a sugar pop cereal puff on top before precrimping. No ide ...

The 16 gauge action bar will interchange with the 20-gauge only if the 20 is built on the 12-gauge frame. It is not the same as the later 20 gauge built on the LW frame.

Got my copy yesterday. Went to the 16-gauge recipes and what do I see for one-ounce loads in Fiocchi hulls but 19 grains of Green Day powder. That cannot possibly be an innocent typo.

Unique and 20/28 have the same burn rate. They have different densities, 20/28 being more dense, so are not equivalent in volume for a given weight. You can use the same recipes for both by weight f ...

I load 7/8 oz in the SG-16 wad and drop a 28-gauge overshot card on top of the shot. Flattens the crimp and has no effect on patterns that I can see. Much easier than stuffing a filler in the wad.

My source tells me alliant does not make powders.
Alliant makes powders at their Radford, VA, plant. Some rifle powders are outsourced, but AFAIK all their shotgun powders are made in house. |
