A 3"x5" index card is better. Roll it length wise and insert it into chamber, let it go and slide it till it stops at forcing cone, scribe it with a pencil and repeat above.

Try calling Skeet's Gun Shop and if there is an answer ask for Dean. 918-456-4749. I know the owner (not Dean) was in poor health a while ago and so maybe it is not anymore, but try it.

I sent mine ...

In my opinion, roll crimping vs fold crimp, the roll crimped shell should have less pressure than the same shell fold crimped.
Also, from the top of the over shot card to top of hull is more than 3/3 ...

Any load that will fit into a 2 3/4" hull will fit into a 2 1/2" hull if you roll crimp it.
If you 6 pt crimp it, the hull interior and it's components will have to fit in side a 2 1/4&quo ...

What is the first thing you see in most reloading manuals & ...

Bill, all of my low pressure low velocity loads are for my old "elsies". I also do them for a 1892 12 ga WW Greener with 2 1/2" chambers and a circa 1920's 16 ga FN double with 2 9/16&q ...

Has anyone tried this load using these hulls. The recipe is using 17.7 grs. Unique, Rem STS primer, Rem. RXP-20 wads, 1 oz shot. 960 fps and 5900 psi. Roll crimp using one .030 overshot card. This hul ...

Picked up a few of these hulls at the range. Noticed they were different in that they had a copper plated head. Looked inside and measured internally and looked to be the same as the brass plated head ...

I also would like to know if anyone has a bag or two to sell. I have found a nice low pressure, low recoil load using them.

Also is there a replacement for them?

Fiocchi, are bigger. Here is a list of primer diameters.
what makes some nice is that they are stepped and makes them easy t start.

Deer Hunter, that's true I didn't think of that, but most 20 ga guns now are chambered for 3" and shoot 2 3/4" just fine. Should have thought before I typed.

As Dr. Drew has stated the chambers for 16 ga L.C. Smiths were .745. I measured 2 of mine a 16 ga hammer gun c. 1910 that was .746 and .745. The other a c. 1927 Specialty at .745 and .745.
I then too ...

I do have Lyman's 5th Edition. Very few loads in low pressure using the Rem blacks. The only decent load listed is using a Rem R-16 wad, figures.
