One other question, can I leave out the OS card (if the load calls for it) when fold crimping and just put another felt wad or other filler under the shot to adjust the stack height for a good crimp?

+1 to what skeetx said.

With shotshells there are no reliable pressure signs near the max. pressures. When signs do show up it usually means you are WAY over pressure.

Instead of a Cheerio, way not just buy the correct wad for 7/8 and get it over with.

Yeah, not a great price anymore (unless they go on sale) and 16 ga. is the only one currently not in stock (backorderable).
