I cannot imagine going to a larger gauge for better skeet scores.
I went to a 28 gauge a little over a year ago. My best scores ever.

Maybe one of those 30" Citoris in 16 gauge would mak ...

Looks nice. No apology necessary.
With UPS and FedEx making things more difficult, I am doing the same.
I found a local guy who is great at taking pics. Starts all auctions at $1.
So far so g ...

I had a 7/8 oz. in a Rem hull tested.
15.4 gns. It was overpressure and velocity/pressure was all over the place.
Terrible fit too.

I also use snap caps in all my shotguns.
There will be some who claim coil springs only wear with use and not compression.

My son left his 1187 shotgun mag tube loaded while at college.
That ...

What do you think about 28 gauge with BE-86?
If I try it will be about 12 grains maybe a little less.
AA hull, Cheddite primer and the Claybuster HS wad.

At least now I can save all my 20/28 ...

I don't have a chrono.

In the 16 gauge Remington load I used the CB0078-16.
Really needed a 3/4 oz. wad. They were so dished I would have been embarrassed to send them to Tom, so I used a 28 gaug ...

AVG 1231 FPS (EV of 7) 11320 PSI (EV of 500)

When my High Gun gets (Wed.) here I will send the load Mark suggested out for testing.
I have a lot of Remington hulls and the 7/8 oz wads. I'll use Cheddite primers too.

I have my 20 gauge loaded with 15.1 grains now.
Any suggestions for the 16 gauge as to how much powder?
I am thinking 18-19 grains.
Win/Cheddite hull, SG-16 wad and, and 1 oz. of 7.5s.

I'm ...

Yes, I read a lot in pistol forums of guys comparing Unique to BE-86.
I used a Cheddite primer and a CB1078-20 wad.
There are loads of up to 17.5 gns. with Unique in an STS hull.
I think 15 wil ...

1st results are in.

Looks promising, but this batch was slightly over pressure.
With 16 grains.
Velocity was 1262 avg. with EV of 22 (1249 to 1271)
Pressure was 12840 avg. with EV of 500. ...

I have six 20 gauge shells ready to send to Tom. Fit was nice with zero wad pressure.
It is a little fine (BE-86) but other than that I am hopeful. Not as fine as W296 but close. Static may be an ...

There is only one way to find out.

I am pretty well stocked on shotgun powder, and worst case I'll just shoot a lot of 9mm 38 and 45.

I suspect its best use for shotgun is going to be the 28 ...

Exactly, I am going to use Unique as a guide.
I don't think it will be perfect for light 16 gauge loads, but should be OK for standard loads.
Of course by the time I get around to getting it all ...

With all the discussions about Green Dot, I decided to procure some BE-86.
There seems to be no shotgun data, but I think it would be great for 20 and 28.
I will send some out for testing. 16 shoul ...
