Thank you for clarifying this and the additional information.
In the video, it appears the shim indentations would be caused by installing the shim under the cap instead of under the barr ...

I was able to purchase a 1964-68 16 gauge 1400 that was in very good but neglected condition. When it was disassembled for cleaning, there were no forearm shims under the magazine cap.

I could sure use a 16 gauge die set for the ol Pacific DL 250 that I have in 20 gauge.
Or a new loader DL 250 style.

Our Cabela's usually has at least some Kent stuff available; nobody in a gazillion miles has RST's on the shelf. Michael Murphy & Sons used to carry some but I haven't seen them there in ages.
