I just purchased a 16 ga, King's Ferry era "Deluxe" model 37 with a rib, choke tubes. etc.. It is supposedly one step up from the basic "Classic" model. It seems to have slightly better wood and a fuller, checkered forend instead of the "barrel" forend. What is the difference in values between these to models? Thanks, 16GG. |

The difference in value would be almost nothing at this juncture. 16 gauge pumps from recently defunct companies don't sell at high enough rates to formulate good solid sales information. I imagine it might sell quickly, posted here, but, the closest pawn shop to my house is totally un-interested in it, that I can promise you.
It is, a deluxe grade. Shoot it in good health.
Best,

Ted, I'm not looking to sell it. However, I do need to establish a value for insurance purposes and future reference. I am simply asking what the last retail value was on it. If anyone out htere knows, I'd appreciate the info. Thanks. |

That model was new in 1996, and MSR was $660 when Ithaca LLC went kaput. They never sold for near that much, however, and right near the end and just after the bankruptcy a few went out the door at just over $300, depending how bad the dealer wanted out of them.
Good luck with an insurance company and guns-usually a lawyer ends up involved, and whatever number you gave them is negotiated later anyway.
Best,

Value is determined by the seller and the buyer at the time of purchase.
I just purchased a post 2000 Mint in box M37 Dlx 12 gauge 3" for $270 at a local gun show. Sort of a knee jerk reaction to the price and gun.
For insurance purposes I would value at $400 to $500 dollars depending on condition and extras if any. -Dick |
