Has anyone experienced a 37 having a shell get stuck in the chamber? I have used Federals in the past with no malfunctions. Winchester Super Xs would fire, then the ejector would not eject the shell. It would rip a squared notch in the rim. Needed a cleaning rod to push it out from the muzzle. Federals cycled fine once again.

Hi,
I was having the same problem in my Remington Sportsman with the Winchester shells. I'm not sure why it was happening...I just don't shoot them out of that gun anymore. Every other shell (Federal, Kent and Remington) I had worked fine. I don't think it's a gun problem, I think it's a shell problem.
Funny enough, they work fine in my 37.

back in the OLD days - used to have a mix of 3'' 12's in a m12 mag . Was on a great crow flyway , windier n hell . Had a mag full of win mags and every time I fired the NON AA type shell , would stick like that . Don't know if the plastic was softer or what , but was consistent . So this type of thing goes back 30 yrs . |

The new steel headed cases do not contract as much as the old brass headed cased.
Check out your hulls, with the primer removed, with a magnet .

Thank you for the replies. I thought it may have been something less common and broken on my gun. Skeetx thank you especially for the link that supplied the repair for this by a machinist. |
