Just been given several thousand R16 wads. Are the only receips involved in reloadingwith these wads dedicated for Remington hulls only? Can't seem to find them used in any other hulls. Cheers! Very Happy

If I'm not mistaken, the Rem R-16 can be substituted for the Win AA16 across the board for 1 oz loads.

But some of the seasoned reloaders should chime in here with the gospel.

The 16 ga LPG has recipies using this wad with just about any hull type. If you're not already a member, consider shooting a PM to RWG about joining. It's cheap and there is a ton of data.

holy Crap...now they're falling out of the trees. Laughing A year ago you could not find them under rocks. Rolling Eyes I guess the fact that we can order them in quantity is flushing all the hoarded lots out of the basements, attics, and garages where they've been hiding all these years. Well, thats good too. Nothing like free wads to gladden a reloader's heart. Laughing

FYI, the R16 was THE STANDARD one ounce 16 ga. wad long before the AA16 existed. It was used in just about every 16 ga hull that existed from the beginning in the mid 1960's. Even Winchester published data for its use in their hulls prior to when they released the AA16 for sale. It has also been used for decades for 3/4 and 7/8 ounce loads with 28 ga filler wads in the shot cup.

The R16 can be used in any data calling for a WW16 wad, because it generates less pressure. so load them up to your heart's content and bang away. However, be sure to save some for 3/4 and 7/8 ounce loads. They work perfectly and will make any light weight 16 a joy to shoot without the recoil of standard hunting shot charges.

Thanks, guys. Russ grom the LPG tells me they are being tested in other hulls - I have well over 4000 R16 wags --- in all likelyhood will last me awile.
