My local Dicks finally stocked up on Remmy 16s. Been waiting for a while for them to restock after the old dude in fron of me took the whole lot last time. What kind of life in terms of reliable reloads have you guys been getting out of them? Thanks. |

I bought 2 cases from Dick's in Appleton, WI today.......then drove the 30 miles to Green Bay and got another 4 cases.
All Rem Game loads in 7 1/2.
Both stores advised they have more coming. Dicks has 450 stores. They are willing to order shells from other stores. (case lots only)
$3.99/ box. One store game me a 10% case discount and the other didn't advising the GL's don't have any promotions on them.
A case of shells is like cord wood cut and stacked neatly. This will get me through till next spring. |

I picked up 6 cases Sat at a local Dick's. They ordered ten cases for me and some clerk sold 4 of them before I picked them up.
I now have 18 cases left after shooting 2 cases in 2 weeks. I will be good for a while. 4 or 5 of those cases are #8's that I picked up at Bass Pro Shop on my way home from Fla. Gonna try some of those out on the sporting clays course on Thurs. |

Checked out Dicks today. A meager collection of Remington Game Load's 6's and 4's. I usually have much better luck at at Bass Pro, however, last week they were pretty much out also. Time to hit the reloading bench!

Rem16,
Recently wore out a batch of Rem GL hulls. A few of them burned up the crimps at the 4th firing (3rd reload), but the rest made it through 5 reloads. Might have been able to squeeze out one more load but they were pretty crispy with a lot of splits.

Does anyone know if the Bass Pro in Orlando has them?

Bass Pro in Savanah, Ga and Harrisburg, Pa had them when I was coming home 2 weeks ago. I bought all the 7.5's in Ga and all of the 8's and a bunch of 7.5's in Pa |

Dick's in Portland, ME had one flat last week (operative word being "had"...I bought it ). Remington GL, 7 1/2s. I believe it was $38 & change after the flat discount.
They seem to be out of them more often than not. The manager told me they order them (shotgun shells, in this case 16s) but the order comes back from their people as "can't be filled" or somesuch.
He said he thinks it might have something to do with the fact they're in the same district as Mass and there might be some restrictions (or more work) associated with that [Socialist/Nutcase] state. |

Yesterday, the Dick's store in Whitehall had 12 boxes of Rem GL167's on the display shelves for $3.99 ea. But there were random flats stacked 10 high off to the side like they intended to make some kind of pre-season display but didn't quite get around to it. I asked the clerk if they had lay-a-way for the 12 boxes as I was riding my Harley when I visited. He said he would just put them in the back with my name on them and I could fetch them within 48 hours. After that they would go back out front for sale. I snooped around the stacks of flats while he made up his mind how he was going to carry 12 boxes to the backroom in one trip when I spied THEM. 3 flats of the GL167's burried in the middle. I said to forget the loose boxes, let them for the next guy, I'll take those 3 flats. And as we carried them behind the counter he offered/reminded me that there was a 10% discount off the per box price. MY LUCKY DAY!
Just to make sure that they didn't get sold out from under me, I returned this morning when the store opened to claim them. I didn't want to end up like TJC.
Dick's price including the 6% sales tax beats Bass Pro Shops $3.69 plus shipping. Does K-mart still have blue-light specials??? |

onefunzr2,
Nice find. I would have taken the loose boxes too. They'll give you the 10% off if you take 10 loose boxes. In fact, I've had them give me the case price even if they only had 8 boxes. Twice they told me it was close enough.
When they have them, Dick's is hard to beat. $3.99 minus 10% plus tax.
I shot 1/2 a flat at sporting clays today and will finish that flat off tomorrow night at trap. |
