Bigboy, I'm trying to envision a scenario in which you would first decide to take a Chihuahua hunting.

Your pup would be easy to transport to the field. He could ride in the shell bag. Smile I guess even the little dogs have an instinct for hunting.

On the opposite end of the spectrum, I know a guy who stopped to ask a farmer if he could hunt his ground. The fellow said, "Sure, take old Rufus with you" indicating a St. Bernard standing in the farmyard. My friend tried to gracefully decline, but the farmer insisted. Turns out, old Rufus was a capable flushing dog, finding birds and staying within range.

Jagdhund:
I have no idea how she started it , but she's a first rate fetcher , and she's the Anti-Chihuahua - she's FRIENDLY . I used to take her to work with me sometimes because all the ladies that worked for me doted on her . I had her with me on the opening day of dove season one year , so out to the field she went when I bugged out of the shop at noon , The first bird I shot , she took off like a rocket and caught it on the first bounce . She's been a dove retrieving machine since . Not a lot of doves around here , so I keep a whole one frozen to toss for her sometimes
