Just heard about Doug's passing. Damn. What a great guy. Really enjoyed the hunt in SD with him years ago. What a damn fine guy.
My heartfelt condolances to his family and other friends.

My sweet lord!!! How could I have missed this post for so long. I'm crushed.
Farewell old friend. May your trails all be easy to walk, and may your journeys all be joyful. Farewell. |

I am so sad about this. Please don't let my lack of posts indicate a lack of devotion to this site. Please Dear Lord let let the most gracious of condolences land upon this family and let the coming year fill them with happiness and comfort in a wonderful legacy of a Good Man! |

Postoak informed me of Doug's passing. I, like so many others, thought he would last forever. In this case, I will celebrate his life rather than mourn his passing. He was an extraordinary human and through his accomplishments, made this world a better place for us. |

Wow.....my first day back since hunting and holiday seasons and I see this..... We owe Doug a lot. In fact, the whole 16 gauge resurgence can largely be credited to Doug and his creation and maintenance of this site. R.I.P. Doug. You did well.
I read the obit, and I'm the same model year as Doug, and oddly enough I met my first wife in the same place as he did -- Culver Military Academy. I was not a student there however, but an ILYA C-Scow sailor at a regatta on Lake Maxinkuckee, on whose shores the CMA stands, and on which campus we were hosted. My wife-to-be was also sailing that weekend. Small world.... |

New to list. Been lurking for quite sometime. Know what it's like to be the odd man out from my days as a cyclist on steel and Ti frames while almost everyone is one Carbon.. I didn't know Doug but his devotion to 16 gauge guns show vision that only a few manufacturers have. I do hope this site continues as it is the first thing I look at in the AM and the last before bed. |

Wow, what a loss. Hope everyone works together to keep it all going. He rekindled a part of my youth in me that has brought so much joy and fun to me and my son. So young! |

Terrible loss, our thoughts and prayer go out to him and his family. May the good Lord watch over him.
