I've owned this one since 2008 but for the past couple it has been sitting neglected in the safe. 30" barrels with chokes of .007"/.020" and stock dimensions of 1 5/8" x 2 5/8" x 14" to a plastic buttplate and just under 14.5" to an added rubber recoil pad. I ground the pad to fit the curvature of the stock so the plate can be returned. Was told the buttplate is not the proper one for the gun, but it is a LAC plate.
Early on, I sent this to Mike Orlen to open the chokes from their original .040"/.040" and make sure the chambers are 2 3/4". I hunted the gun for several years, mostly for prairie grouse, and although it's got more drop than most of my guns it is easy to shoot well. For me, at least it has been.
$1200 shipped to your FFL.

Jeff, it's within a couple ounces of 7lbs. I took it to the post office shortly after I got it and measured 6lbs 14oz. The pad should flip it to 2oz over 7lbs. |

Neat piece of classic Americana. 30" 16 ga. SxS's are not very common. It will make someone a righteous pheasant gun. |

I had to check, but I did in fact shoot at least one pheasant with this Lefever. Got a photo of a rooster and a quail so I did hunt it in Iowa. Mostly it was after prairie birds in North Dakota and Nebraska, as something lighter to carry than a standard A5 which came in right at 8lbs. |

Kirk, that LAC buttplate, although not found on most Durstan Specials is no doubt the original that came with the gun. I have a DS 20 with an LAC plate that has been thoroughly gone over by the Lefever experts, and deemed to be original to the gun. Nothing was written in stone back then and you will find lots of variations that are all original. Iam glad that you took the care to make sure that the buttplate will fit back on.
Those 30" barrels on your gun are talking to me, a wonderful gun--I MUST RESIST! |

I bet those barrels swing well! That's a fair price if the barrels are on face. Reno |

TPS, yes they do swing well at least for me. As far as on face, I tipped the barrels open and watched as they closed to seal out visible light. Is there an industry standard to check further? I caught the thinnest available sheet of paper on hand (Cablea's receipt) against the breech face with each barrel in turn and there's no moving the paper from either captive side. |

I think a fresh dollar bill is .006. If you close the action on one and it don't slip when you pull, you're good. Reno |

How about a 2009 20 dollar bill? Neither side will let go of that. (Insert your relevant son/daughter joke here). |

Lefevers have an big adjusting screw on the front of the action to keep it tight on face. They are the only gun with this feature to my knowledge. Action tightness is never a concern with these guns. |

Price increase. I know, pretty rare. I reblued the barrels and re-cut the checkering, and had Turnbull case color the receiver. Will take and send pictures on request, no longer using Photobucket since they changed their modus.
$1400 shipped. |

Where in Nebraska are you and will you be around this weekend? I'll be in NE hunting, and this gun is very attractive to me. |
