I came across 100+ 16 ga Cheddite Hulls w/primers, but I have not been able to locate any load data on the internet including the UK 16 ga Group. If you have any load data that you would care to share it would be greatly appreciated.
Thanx in advance

Had this one tested by Tom Armbrust several years ago. Still using it.
16ga Cheddite paper hulls / roll crimp and trimmed to length for load:
7/8 oz shot / 20gr Longshot Powder / G16 wad / W/W209 primer .030 overshot card
average for 3 shells 1156fps / 5,300 PSI
Very mild recoil and they break clays and bust doves just fine. |

I ran across some load data for paper Cheddite hulls on either one of Nobel Sport or Cheddites many websites, can't remember now which it was. Look on some of those and you may find it. |

I think Dave Miles developed some loads for the Ched paper hulls maybe he will chime in .
I have a couple hundred 2.5" I'd like to use. |

Thank you all for the information. The hulls are 2-3/4" and never been loaded/fired.
Hope the smell like the ones rom the "Good Ol' Days"
Thanx, again |

I have a couple thousand of the black ones with the plastic base wad. After I started shooting them I noticed that target style plastic wads tore up the inside of them rendering them into a one shot hull. I tried using paper wads and they were fine. I shoot a Smith that has the old style forcing cones. I used the card wad loads in that gun and got patterns that reflected the actual choke constriction as built. Modified and full gentle to shoot and whacks the birds just fine at under 35 yards, which is good for me. I use Longshot or Vectan GM3 at 20 and 22 grains respecfully |

Thanks for the heads up on using plastic wads. The ones I obtained are black also.
I will be launching them from a Model 12. They also came with about 6 bags of different sized fiber & cork wads(?) and over/under shot cards. Been reloading since the late 60's have reloaded once-fired 12 ga (I know) Federal crimped paper hulls.
Do you crimp or roll the ones you reload?

Try the WAA12R wads/Claybuster makes a clone of them. I use them in my Elsie and Baker double gun loads and they pattern real well with them. I tired Longshot and it just gets to dirty at lower pressures for my liking, Unique works fairly well, 24 -25 of SR7625 works about best but I am about out of it now. |

LoJ - I would take a few of those cases and cycle them thru your M12 before loading any , just to get a sense of whether they cycle without hanging up . Any good load will open them/stretch them fully and the 1st loading or so could be tough to extract . Byrdog's case trimmer is perfect for that if in fact you need to take a couple thousands off . Should be enough to cycle any M12 . (I'd look for Fed paper case loads and go from there ) |

Eight point crimp on a PW 375. Note that they are not made with wax. I have applied parifin to the mouth on some before loading . It did help the case life but not by enough to bother with it. |

I have about 16 different loads using the paper hulls.
All were tested by Tom.
I have them in a small Excell spreadsheet.
Shoot me an e-mail and I'll send it to you.
Most are with longshot or SR-7625 powder.

Note:
I found that after about 3 reloads, the paper will burn through and separate from the brass, leaving the paper hull in the chamber. |

I picked some paper hulls up from bpi back in the spring, would be interested in what others have loaded too. Especially, if using Unique or GreenDot. Thanks! |
