What a great day! Perfect weather (cool finally!), lots of birds, and the first time I took the Gran Lightning 16 out for a full day hunt. It performed beyond my expectations and also carried effortlessly. One of my hunting partners brought his Pointing Lab, carried an older A5 16 gauge, and took these photos. We were able to rotate dogs and cover a lot of ground. Most of my birds fell to Federal 1 oz. 7.5's out of a skeet choke. I had Winchester 1-1/8 oz. 7.5's in the second barrel, choked IC, but rarely needed it. What a great day! Whoops, already said that......

hoashooter.....we were hunting High Desert Hunt Club near Gorman, California. They release Pheasant, Chukar and Bobwhite, but also have a HUGE population of Valley Quail...also deer (we saw 6 while driving out). |
