picked up a box of 4's bismuth especially for ducks
1 1/8" load
what loads are you guys using for ducks? |

I use handloads of #5 bismuth. Usually 1 oz or less. 1 1/8 oz of bismuth takes up a lot of case capacity and requires the equivulent shotcup capacity of 1 1/4 oz. Few 16 ga. wads have such a shotcup capacity. Honestly, 1 oz of bismuth has a pellet count equal to 1 1/8 oz of lead, so you aren't looking pattern density by only shooting a weighed oz. of bismuth. 7/8 oz bismuth loads work well too. Russ |

Been using 1 1/8 and 1 1/4 oz. TM. in #5 shot. Pheasant and ducks fall hard with it. Up until now the price was beter than the big "B". Now anything I see on the shelf is double from this fall. Good shooting.
