bought a 16 ga mec 650 off of ebay, and just loaded up my first 2 boxes. So far I love it, a lot faster then my mec 600, just have to watch it a little closer. hardest part was getting the auto primer to drop the primers correctly and to remember to load a wad. anyone else use one?

I used to have them in 12-20-28-410 back when I shot skeet competitions. I upgraded to 9000G's in 12-20-410 when I ran across bargains, then added a 9000G in 16ga.
I still use my 28ga 650, no need to upgrade it since I shoot so little 28ga now. I still use the 12ga 650 also, it is set up for trap loads so I don't need to change the 9000G light skeet load settings. I have no complaints on the 650, I've loaded goodness knows how many tens of thousands of loads on them with few issues that were not self-inflicted Embarassed
They are fine machines.

I enjoy mine. Once setup it hasn't failed me. Got a universal charge bar to make life easy. Highly recommend.

how do you start and end a session with out spilling powder and shot? My first shell caused shot to spill since no hull was under the shot tube, now I am done, how do I cycle the last shells thru with out spills?

Fired primed empty hulls in the stations under the powder and shot drop tubes until the hulls being loaded get there.

The press will lock the bar to stop dropping shot/powder if no hull is detected at station two - IF it is adjusted properly. I don't empty the press when I'm done so I don't worry about it.
The adjustment is in the owner's manual for the press, on page 12.
Skeettx's way is just as easy!

Great press just watch the primer drops like a hawk to ensure a proper drop. One of the best tools to keep handy while your getting used to it is the shop vac.

I had a couple. I happen to prefer loading on a single stage press.

One tip that I can offer is to mount your press over a cookie sheet or cafeteria tray.

That way all your spills are contained. You will have spills.

How are you re-sizing at the moment . . . . Or are you resizing at all?

The biggest problem with MEC's early progressives, the 500, the Super600 and the 650 is the lack of an ability to resize in the normal reloading cycle. Resizing can be done on those presses as a separate operation, requiring a little hardware change. A lot of 650's you see on eBay are missing those parts. MEC's own solution to the resizing problem was first "The Case Conditioner", and then later the SuperSizer after they started making the collet resizer that is now in the Grabbers and 9000's as well as the Sizemaster single stage.

I happen to have a "Case Conditioner" I'd like to sell. It is in 12 gauge now, but simple parts from the MEC 600 are all that is necessary to convert it to another gauge. The Case Conditioner is just the deprime and re-size station from the 600, and shares all the functional parts. It's the same ring-type resizing method also used on the 650. Google "MEC Case Conditioner Images" to see what they are like https://www.google.com/search?q=MEC+case+conditioner+images&tbm=isch&imgil=rRsoa6a02Pf6MM%253A%253B66M2rEkTbi_7MM%253Bhttp%25253A%25252F%25252Fwww.soldusa.com%25252Frainworx%25252Fdetail.asp%25253Fid%2525253D43852&source=iu&pf=m&fir=rRsoa6a02Pf6MM%253A%252C66M2rEkTbi_7MM%252C_&usg=__-pdeEOy5LzS-cqGxROphXHxmoX4%3D&biw=1259&bih=808&ved=0ahUKEwiDirTC-7jTAhVh4oMKHa-1DY8QyjcIRQ&ei=XcX7WMPnGuHEjwSv67b4CA#imgrc=rRsoa6a02Pf6MM:

PM me if you want to buy mine -- cheap, too! Since my shop is loaded with MEC 600's and 9000's, my Case Conditioner is underemployed and just sitting in the corner waiting for you. It's gotta go to somebody who can use it.
