Considering options for a short stocked lightweight gun at the moment. Does anyone have an idea how long the action tube in the stock measures? Or more to the point how much one could shorten the stock?

I would probably need to alter the pitch a bit and some toe out ideally. Although contouring the pad can give some leeway as well.

Any help is appreciated, Thanks.

Mine was shortened to 13.5 inches LOP. Also shortened the length of grip 1/2 inch which made a huge improvement in my trigger reach. The adjustment wedges provided by browning are barely functional. My smith made stock adjustments to get the cast off I needed. Gun now fits me perfect and I shoot it well.

I ran across a new sweet yesterday $300 off plus the $100 rebate I guess I have a new duck gun it followed me home. I'm not a repeater fan but this girl felt lively and I figured my son would shoot it. The full choke is crazy full browning always did way over choke there full chokes. Really nice light gun for all you Benelli and auto loader fans. It is a carry all day non-tox gun for sure. Pheasant and Prairie grouse gun for you mid-west and western folks. I may carry it for Turkey's it's sure light enough. Browning defiantly trimmed it down sleek I think the motto for it is "carries like a 28 hits like a 12".

pudelpointer, what was the final price of the gun, including the rebate? And where did you find it $300 off?

I keep trying to find one in Phx to look at, one store has one in 28" about an hour drive away, but I think I'd want the 26" with that long receiver sighting plane as I like 26" guns better in my other semi-autos.

$1699.00 store had a $300 rebate so $1399 which is retail plus the $100 off $1299 total. The store supports my RGS shoot every year I'm sure you can buy one for less but I owed them for the support. My guess is you can buy one for $1100-$1200.

I guess I was lucky with mine in December. It was marked $1389.99 but there was a Browning 10% off sale that brought it down to $1250.99 plus tax. I wasn't aware of the Browning $100 rebate until I read about it later on here. That brought it down to $1150.99, of course the tax was still on the number before the rebate.

Shot the sweet over the weekend handles nice took me little while to get used to the thing had about 5 miss feeds over 100 targets with the Herters factory 1oz of 8's. It was fun to shoot the mod choke just crushes targets had some long shots 40 plus that broke hard. That itch is now scratched back to the double guns.

Same here, MGW for my choke tubes. I've also seen them for sale on eBay believe it or not.

MGW also sells the studded caps for a sling for the 12 gauge A5, but nothing yet for the SW16, so I had my gunsmith fit a stud to mine.

Ordered chokes on Sunday. Midwest shipped them on Monday. Dealer said August? What the heck over? Also,Saw a questionable review of new sweet in Gun tests. The rating didn't reflect the written review to me. It may be a little pricy but it'a great functioning shotgun. The article said it was a big improvement over the old sweets. FWIW
