Popplecop (John Holmes) passed away Saturday. He lived in Portage, WI and was a retired game warden and a true 16 gauge fan. I'll try to post an obituary when it's available. |

Popplecop always spoke of the real world of birdhunting and scatterguns, with preference being a sauce rather than a main course.
That is rare....very rare.
Condolences to his family and friends. |

Dave, thanks for letting us know. Popplecop was about my age, I enjoyed his stories, may God rest his soul, and comfort his family.

Damn Dave sorry to hear John passed away. I've shot and spent some time with John and his family from the Midwest UJ gatherings. He will be missed. His legacy is passed on to a large number of family members that shoots and hunts because of him. |

Dave,
Thanks for bringing us up to date with John (PoppleCop), I was wondering why I could no longer contact him.
Real sorry to hear this, he was a great guy.

What a shame, he was a good guy here, always had good advise and was always friendly and courteous to all. He was a lot of fun and had some good and funny comments. He sure will be missed! He and his family will be in our prayers.
