I sold a Bill Hanus Birdgun in 16 gauge for $2000 over ten years ago. It was an AYA#4. Is there a difference in the quality between the AYA #4 and the Uggie?

The only thing about the AYA was that it's triggers were not well set from the factory. The person I bought it from had trigger work done before I bought it. I think this is common with entry level guns.

I walked into a gunsmith's shop a couple years ago and saw an AYA that turned out to be the very gun I sold! The owner had fallen on it and pretty much destroyed the straight grip stock at the wrist. I offered to buy it from him but I guess I didn't hint at a good enough price, as he turned me down. I had purchased a slightly used Beretta 686 20 gauge with a broken stock. One sidepanel was separated but still with the stock. I bought it for $500 as is and repaired the sidepanel...have shot it hundreds of times. Now, I mentioned this example to the owner of the AYA with the broken stock, and noted that his stock could not be repaired.

I liked the AYA and should have kept it.

$1,800.00 may be a little overpriced, but IMHO not by too much. Since Uggies's are no longer being made, I would guess it will be going up in value.

The Bill Hanaus name adds a little also.

I have a Grade 111 Uggie in twenty-eight gauge, not long before they quit making them, Lion Country Supply was asking about $2,800.00 for the gun.

If you like a single trigger sxs, this is a darn good gun to take a hard look at, offer the seller what you think it's worth, you might get a heck of a deal.

Maybe. I think AYA is a better known name than Uggi.

With Spanish shotguns, a good rule is "Buy the gun, not the Name" because the quality can vary greatly among them.
