As we know, there hasnīt been any data available for 16g with Vihtavuori powders. Now one finnish guy has tested some loads.
Heīs using "Pressure Trace" equipment, so measured pressures are not exact. Therefore, he only states pressure "under 780bar" or "under 1050bar". These limits come from CIP standard (like SAAMI in US).
Anyway, hereīs some loads:
Rem 16/70 black hull
Win209
Vihtavuori N340 1,30-1,50grams
SP-16
28grams lead
speed: 335-395meter/second
Pressure under 780bar (+17 celsius)
Win 16/70 (cheddite I bet)
Win209
Vihtavuori N340 1,30-1,45grams
SP-16
32grams lead
speed: 315-357meter/second
Pressure under 780bar (+17 celsius) |

Riude:
Thanks for posting these recipes. It might just be worth pressure testing them ourselves. We have access to some Vihtavuori powders. I'll have to check if N340 is one of them. Probably make a run to my powder guy in January when things slow down. Russ |

This guy said he will test some 1 and 1 1/8oz loads with N350 and 3N38 powders too when he has time. I suppose it means during this winter/spring.
He will also do some tests with VV powders and TS shots.
Iīll report about these later. |

Im new to shotgun reloading. I have all the components mentioned above except the powder. Have anyone tested these loads?
And if so, can i reduce the shotload from 32grams to 30 grams? |

Pressure Trace is a strain gauge measurement system
It can be purchased in the states and I believe it maybe made here, but I have not looked that closely at the box.
It will not yield the same quality data that piezo transducer will, but some believe it is adequate
It was developed for rifle pistol work, but supposedly can work for shotguns too

I purchased a set up and test gun (Winchester Model 37) to do some RMC load development, but have not gotten to it |
