I picked up my new A5 Sweet Sixteen earlier this afternoon. The gun was ordered with a 26” barrel and that is what I received. I like this gun. I hope to shoot it Sunday afternoon. The oddity is the barrel is actually stamped 28” as opposed to the correct 26”. Yes, I measured it three times to confirm. I have seen this once before on a Beretta 626 Onyx 12 ga where the barrel is marked 28” but actually measures 26”.

Just curious how often others may have seen similar factory errors.

I ordered a 28 and received a 26 by mistake, although not mismarked. I like the total length of the 26. The action on these guns is longer than the old ones so the overall length is 2 inches longer. For me, the 26 is as long as my 30 inch clays gun.

Was it a 2016 gun or 2017? How low is the serial number?

It is a 2017 gun and the serial number is not that low. I just picked it up on Friday.

serial numbers: 116=model number Sweet Sixteen, ZT=Date Code 2016, 10XXX is the 5 digit sequential serial number. I called Browning but could not get an answer for what is the serial number of the first gun in the first production. The educated guess is since all serial numbers are 10 digits, the first gun was 10,001.

I have two first production three digit serial number 2016 Sweet Sixteens. One 28" and one 26". I am on a quest for the lowest number guns I can find. I am willing to trade either of these two new in the box guns and for any single digit serial number gun in good condition, 116ZT1000X.

Geesh, Morningstar, you made me set down my coffee and tromp downstairs to check mine. 125xx. I think mine was the first one delivered in western WI. Of course mine is far from original now.

Isn't it past your bedtime?

I am still unhappy that you beat me to the straight stock conversion. That is a must have in my world. Smile

mine are 116ZT103XX and 116ZT105XX.

I am very interested in this mismarked gun. The more I think about it the more I want it.

Something about rare Sweet Sixteen just jiggles my Jello.

In my 20s, I needed 10hs sleep. Now that I'm in my 60s its down to about 5hrs. I'm up between 4 - 5am, checkin 16ga and SW.
