I thought so too. Cheap enough to ad a small pad . I'd have bought it but I have one already . And don't need any more guns . Besides I have a NID on the way right now . |

Looks like the release lever is not right of center..... but, there still could be a lot of shooting life yet. |

Attractive price for a Sterlingworth, but I wonder what the "fair" metal and wood entails. Some degree of pitting? Metal proud above the wood? Seems like either you have to sink some money into it (maybe a lot) or try to be happy with it as is. Who knows, maybe it's a true bargain. |

Looking from the top down on left hand side of receiver, there seems to be a pin protruding out. ( I could be wrong ) I am not an expert. It is very intriguing for the price and as Mr. Erickson mentions it could be a bargain or vice versa. Being a Fox and a 16 gauge to boot you would think even if it was a just a o.k. shooter it would still bring a a larger price tag. I have a Fox on layaway now, but I must admit my wallet is trembling at the thought of a $599.99 16 gauge Fox !!!! |

That's just the sear pin. A tap with a plastic hammer would bring it back flush. |

Any one know if it's a Philly or Utica gun. I suspect Utica. But still a good buy I think..

Based on the serial number, it's a Utica gun made about 1934. |

A few years ago I picked up a Sterly 16 for $350. Great shape except for a small crack in the wood. I had a client that wanted one so I sold it to him, but now I wish I had kept it, especially since I tried it out at the range and couldn't miss with it. Never going to find one for $350 again. |

Since it's Cabela's Gun Library that listed it, I have a hard time believing it's a "true bargain." |

You can always call the seller and see what he says about it. Also, since it is not an auction, the price is negotiable. |

Zrexxer, don't get too hung up on my wording. I was just trying to say that it might be a decent deal for the money. And of course it might not be. |
