That's a "Roux underlever" action. The lever rotates forward like the lever on a falling-block action. Rotating the lever forward releases the barrels to break open like any other top-break action shotgun.
This type of action is not, as far as I know, made any more. It was popular during black powder and early nitro powder days. It has a reputation for not being very strong and therefore fell out of favor with makers. |
