any 16ga lefever grade a skeet sst btfa vr owners out there?
|
If vr means ventilated rib, there was no such thing. If sst means single-selective trigger they didn't come with that either. I don't have a 16-gauge, but I do have a 20-gauge Lefever A-Grade with the beavertail forearm, non-selective single trigger, recoil pad, twin ivory sights and S & S choke markings. Every option but automatic ejectors. So, Walter considers my gun an up-optioned Model 5. The A-Grade had to have the ejectors as well as the beavertail, ivory sights and NSST to be a Model 6.
Here is a 1937 Lefever Arms poster that shows the Models 6 and 5 at the bottom --

The last appearance of the Lefever A-Grade, Model 5 was on the Feb. 8, 1939, Ithaca Dealers Quotations and the Model 6 Special Skeet Gun was listed as discontinued. By the Feb. 1, 1940, Dealers Quotations only the Model 1, Nitro Special and the Model 2 & 3 single barrels were being offered. The Model 5 Lefever A-Grade and Model 6 Special Skeet Gun were both listed as discontinued. By December 12, 1940, only the Nitro Special and the single barrel trap were being offered. |

Skeettx, didn't see price on that listing. Do you know what asking price was or what it sold for? |
