Folks, this is a really good deal. Notice it is an 8567N - emphasis on "N" -- has the new primer feed system - higher capacity and easier to load with primers. I'd definitely be buying this one if I needed it -- already have two 9000's in .410 (plus a 600, of course).

Will this unit load 2 1/2" and 3" hulls?

If the answer is yes, I'll take it.

It is another issue that can be raised for future use.

According to MEC, the Grabber (8567) in .410 cannot be converted to load 3" shells -- by anything MEC sells, or advises, at least. I'm sure it can be done, but it would likely be a costly exercise.

MEC evidently aims their progressive reloaders at the high-volume shooter market -- target shooters. They always have, and so have all the other manufacturers of progressive reloaders. In the .410, that basically means skeet shooters, who are restricted to 1/2 ounce loads, which are typically loaded into 2 1/2 inch shells.

I use a very old MEC 600 for my 3" .410's.

Thanks Smoke. I went ahead and bought it. We have hundreds of AA 2 1/2" hulls, and my sons are using the .410 for skeet, only until they can comfortable fit themselves to my wife's Franchi and Benelli semi-auto 20ga guns. We'll reload with this press for a couple of years, and then mothball it until my two-year old starts shooting clay targets.
