Hi all, thought I'd start this so we can all post photos of our 2018 season. Include guns, game, dogs, friends etc. So let's see some of those great photos you all take so well!
So with that, here we go
Yesterday was our Grouse/Hun opener, it just plain sucked. High winds (25-30), hot (80's) dry and dusty. Saw birds, but no shots, they were just too wild.
Anyway, today was different, still warm and humid, but winds about 8-10. I was able to limit and my son Jim got one also. Didn't see a lot of birds, but they are still in there old haunts as in past years.
Anyway, here's my 3. I was using my 16b John Wilkes

Jim with his, he was using his 12ga Victor Sarasqueta 3EC and one hot and tired Raina!

Going out again tomorrow.
Best,
Greg |

Great start for your season and thanks for sharing. Our opener is next Saturday. I am a big fan of the John Wilkes guns.
Good Hunting,

Grouse hunting has been superb this season. I will be happy when it cools down. Right now hunting until 11 am is enough. I enjoy the mixed bag or Ruffed and Dusky grouse my state offers.

The Lefever is making good use of those 3/4 oz. loads up where the air is cooler.

Thank you sir. The Lefever is actually the only gun I have used this season so far. Another pic, with a ruff this time. Today, before my friend's memorial.

WyoChukar,
Great LeFever Double Gun and Beautiful Grouse, before attending a good friends memorial, little could be finer.

Hi all, well here's the game for this weekend. One Sharpie. So far it's been a poor season (at least for us!). Have not seen many, even in my old Honey Holes. Well, as they say, that's why they call it hunting!
I used my 16b Charles Hellis this weekend

For anyone who uses instagram at all, a friend was asked to run the Shooting Sportsman's instagram account for our week in Montana (last week). Handful of pics of our trip in the link below (Dave E. - you may recognize one of the guns in the photos, and certainly the stockwork on another).
Had a great week in some beautiful country with good friends.
I'll try to get some additional pictures up at some point this week.

Rob, it does my heart good to see you, your brother, the dogs, and the guns out there. Wish I was there myself! (next year it can finally happen) |

Can't seem to rotate the pic, sorry!
Best,

P.S. Thanks Mike for the kind words on my previous post. The Wilkes stays with me! Sorry! |

Some random photos from recent hunts. The setter (Zeke) belongs to one of my Michigan friends.

Making her rest long enough to get the tongue back in her mouth is always an adventure...
