I noticed on the gun racks at Gander in Middletown N.Y. a brand new !6 guage Citori featherweight with 26 barrels. The price was $1895. How it wound up on a general for sale rack i dont known.

Good gun...I enjoy my 16 superlight immensely, particularly in the field. Very handy gun. If it is in good shape, offer $100.00 less than asking price and see what happens. If it is in really good shape (you indicate as-new, correct?), just pay em' and head out the door. Bet you will NOT regret it later when you are shooting birds!

OL SL, is that a standard Superlight or a Featherweight Superlight? I just lucked into a 26" standard steel Superlight that weighs just about 6 lbs., 6 ounces and is a joy to hunt with. I kept looking for nearly 7 years, but finally got one. It has some minor wood dings, but the price was very good for the condition of the gun.

The shop owner finally admtted he'd screwed up and was thinking it was an upland 24" barreled model which is less popular and usually brings less money. If he'd have known better before accepting my money, he'd have wanted another couple hundred or more. I knew the 26" guns are Superlights and jumped on it before someone else figured out the truth. Sometimes it pays to be both lucky and smart, at least about 16 ga Citori models. Most of the time I'm just dumb lucky or plain dumb. Laughing

My 16 is a superlight feather model. Has the alloy action, straight english stock and 26" barrels. Great on birds and easy to carry all day! For warm up before season, I usually shoot a couple rounds of wobble trap to get ready for the quick away shot over dogs. BUT I admit I would not want to shoot trap or skeet with it on any kind of regular basis...

Sounds like you got a dandy of a new browning 16! Keep us posted on your happy days afield!

Its brand new guys with nice wood and engraving. It is very light and handles well.

If you like the feel of the gun & haven't bought it yet, I think you should. Dither not! If it's new, I don't think the price will come down, and - speaking as one on a tight budget - after you've had it a while you won't remember a couple of hundred either way, but will quickly rue not getting it if you don't. I got a lightning feather 16 a couple of weeks ago and am as pleased with it as everyone said I would be, or moreso, &c&c. You'll be glad you did; whereas, if it slips thru your fingers, you prolly won't find a better deal & so will be remorseful . . .

b.randzin - I picked up a white lightning this fall an love it. I need to get a pad put on it for length, but other than that, it's perfect. I say bring it home!

I've owned a Feather in 16ga for a few yrs now. It was my go to gun for upland hunting until I bought my Merkel SxS.

I still use the gun all the time for trap.

I picked up this 16ga Superlight in 1999. Saw an ad for it and had to call to verify it had a straight stock as I wasn't aware that a Superlight had been produced in that configuration.
