I'm looking at Hodgdons data for this combo that gets to 1250-1300 fps and less than 10k psi. Wondering if anyone has any experience with it?

Other than a very tight fitting wad, which isn't an issue, that is a nice load.

That's what I thought about the tightness too. No other responses so loaded up a box with 22 gr. 22.7 listed as max at 1300, but 22.0 ran 1325 and 1347 for the first 2 shots so I quit there. will try backing off 2 grains

Not exactly what you are looking for but how about this
federal hull
fed 209primer
24 grains long shot
BP sg 16
one oz lead shot
12 grains psb buffer
1300 fps 10,000 psi
federal hulls are pretty easy to come by

Double Post - I keep getting an error message, but it apparently posts anyway.

Which Ballistic Product wad are you using? The SG16S (TUWG1816) has more room under the gas seal so more powder can be fit in the hull. This wad is useful when you have bulkier powders, shorter hulls or heavier shot charges. The SG16 (TUWG2116) has numerous protrusions on the bottom that take up space - this wad is great when you have too much room in the hull.
Carry on,
Jeff

Carl,
Would a Claybuster AA16 fit bitter? These are cheap and plentiful. I probably have some somewhere in my mound of wads if you want to try them.

Robp-Thanks for the suggestion but was specifically looking for experience with that exact load in a RGL. That and I don't do loads that involve fillers, over cards etc.

JNW,sending you a pm
