I am somewhat envious of the long tang.
The case colors look great and I really like the wood. As with mine, I’m convinved some additional oil work with really make it pop. |

It looks great! Nice wood and case color. I am happy for you. Now go shoot it. You are going to love it.

I’ll give the finish some life. After getting a pine plank on my SW16 I was resigned to getting a dud, so I'm very pleased with my stock!
The gun feels good. No ripples on the barrels when I hold them to a light. Good solid Italian gun. Takes some force to open. Coil springs? Triggers have a little creep but pull sweetly. The three chokes marked Cyl, IC, and Mod measure.001, .008, and .018” constriction which is remarkably close to US standards. Lots of euroguns have tight chokes.
The wrist is thicker than some 16’s and I suppose that is the through-bolt, but, I expect to shoot pheasant loads so I’ll take the solid wrist. Helps with recoil too. The gun overall is slim and the action is simple and elegant. |

Very nice Dave. Hope it turns out to be all you had anticipated. |

Thanks, guys. I'm 0 for several when it comes to 16 gauge doubles, horizontal or vertical. I put the odds in my favor here with the custom dimensions and longer barrels. I tend to overpower light guns, and the long barrels slow things down. The fit is excellent and just a hair high at the nose of the comb, so I have some wiggle room if an adjustment is needed.
Modern gun makes sense for me at this point. I have a lifetime stash of factory hunting ammo and this gun will eat it all without a worry.
I hope to try it out this week! |

That’s a winner in my book, looks worth the wait!
Congrats, can’t wait to hear first shooting report.

Thanks, Mark. The long tang isn't engraved or ornate, but it's a full long tang and well fitted. The action is simple, clean, and elegant. I'd rather have no engraving than some of the half-hearted engraving you see on base models.
Thanks, Rob! |

Big thumbs up for John Boyd at Quality Arms. From the first discussions of the options last August to the delivery yesterday he was there and a pro all the way. |
