How long has it been since Rem hulls were stamped in the head "Remington Peters"
Most I have bought, just say Remington on the head stamp. Question

Looking through my ammo I found 2 types of older Remingtons. One is a box of Duck/pheasant loads listed as load DP16-6. The hulls are black and the heads are a copper color. Must be pretty old as the box is stamped $4.79. The other load is some loose Remington Express from when the green hulls were translucent so you can see the wad and pellets. Both loads are headstamped Remington Peters. Also have a box of Reminton express slugs with that same translucent hull. Its a 25 round box. The box is listed as load sp16rs. These would have been my Dads from when we lived in the deer shotgun zone here. We moved from there in 1970 so I'd have to guess they are 60's ammo. They have a price sticker of 3.50 Hope this helps?

Gives me something to ponder, thanks!
I picked up some once fired hulls. These were among them. I don't suppose they are too old...
Brass washed steel heads, midlength brass, (not low or high). Instead of the newer dashed, radioused lines (2) stamped on the case head, it has almost a complete circle, broken in three spots...., Question
They look good, just curious!
I remember the copper colored brass, and the occasional translucent hulls in 12 Ga..

Hello,
I purchased a few boxes of 12 ga R-P target shells back in 2003 and the head stamps were marked Remington-Peters and the ones I purchased within the last 5 years are only marked Remington 12 ga. The same goes for the 28 ga hulls I have.

Hope this helps,

Mike

I remember when they were marked Remington-Peters back in the early 70's. How long after that I don't know. I grew up trapshooting with my dad and we were very happy with the RXP trap loads when they were introduced. Shot great and reloaded better than anything. I used them to win my only trapshooting trophy at the Missouri State shoot in 1975. Winning the Sub-Junior title in the handicap event.
That was my only year shooting ATA trap as my teenage years brought other interests that ended up costing even more money(since dad wasn't paying for it)
