Belgium 16 gauge shotgun with 65mm chambers, nitro proofed, 284.6 pressure, and maybe pre 1924? Anything look out of the ordinary? Auction is Saturday a couple hours away. Not sure I want to drive up to look at this. Will try and get a maker. The description says, "German shotgun".

It may be German with Belgium proofs. It is proofed for nitro powder. |

Still not sure I'll go. Will post more pictures if I end up with it.
Bidding on a Nitro Special on GB also. Try not to buy more than 1 SxS shotgun a week. |

That's a nice gun, and would put any nitro special to shame. I've had a couple belgian boxlocks like that, and they are great shooters. Lively barrels, and the straight stock, nice wood is a winner. Go for it. |

P 1 K 284.6. is Poids (weight) 1 Kilogram, 284.6 grams, the weight of the barrels.
The diamond with the 16 C inside is the black powder proof. P.V. is Poudre Vive, the smokeless proof. |

Didn't drive up, but they have an online bidding process. Thought, surely it will go higher than this.....
Should be here later this week. Got the nitro special too. (My third) |
