I have a big stockpile of reloading componants, but still had to grab a bunch of the 16 ga 1 1/8 oz #5's. $6.88 a box was too good to pass up.
I'll go back to reloading. The addition of the Herter's (Cheddite) hulls will be a nice addition.

I'm going to buy a box of Federal 1 1/8oz high brass loads and try them out for long range shooting. If they work ok, I'll buy a flat. Otherwise, I'm leaning towards getting a flat of Fiocchi Golden Pheasants. For short range work, just about anything will do.

p.s. - my only complaint about GP's is that they're not purple.
Cool

I think you'll find, the feds aren't as stout as the GP's. Depends on what you call long range. I like the feds fine, even for turkey.
And they ARE the correct color...,
Very Happy

Mark, those have been a reliable load for me on midwestern pheasants, and probably my baseline factory 16 ga. pheasant load. I think you'll like them. I've also had good results with the Fiocchi Golden Pheasants, and Herter's 5's.
