I quess I should introduce myself. You may have noticed some of my posts. I'm a new member of 16 Gauge. The bag makes a good camera bag. I've used a 16 gauge A-5 for 35 years. I have 3 other 16 gauge shotguns. My first shotgun was a Sears pump made under the Browning patent. It was my Grandpa's gun. I'm 68 years old. I bought the A-5 sixteen gauge back in the seventies. I hunt with labs. The last three were all rescued from shelters. I have not been dissapointed in any of them. In fact the yellow lab(Buddy) points. In fact today we were up at the pheasant farm doing a little hunting. He pointed and I told him to get the birds so he did. Didn't fire a shot at those two. they had dug down into the snow and couldn't get out. I've been a pheasant hunter since my Dad and Grandpa took me along to act as another dog. I think I was probably 5 years old then. I don't think that there is anything to copare to a dog setting up on a pheasant and then a flush and the sound of that rooster taking in to flight. To me it beats a grouse flushing or even a mallard coming into the decoys. Well that's who I am. http://good-times.webshots.com/album/556810900peJeUx |

Oldhunter it's nice to have someone on the board that admits to being older than me.
Nice looking Lab. It's amazing the number of really well bred sporting dogs that end up in pounds or rescue shelters. |

My last three dogs have all been labs. They all came out of shelters. I just wish I would have had movie cameras along to show what those dogs could do and what they did do. I had to put two of them down bacause of cancer. The retrieves that they did I could not believe. Besides all being good members of my family. I'll probably look for another one in the shelter. Maybe even a german shorthaired pointer. |
