Just noticed they have this. I'm new to loading 2 1/2 in hulls. Is this worth having? I'm already a member of the 16 ga group on Yahoo. |

I own a copy of the manual. And I load 2 1/2" shells.
But relative to 2 1/2" loads, quite candidly I believe the funds would be better utilized on reloading supplies, or toward pressure testing services by Tom Armbrust.
Just my opinion. Others here may have their own perspective.

Early on I believed special data was needed for 2 1/2 in shells, as time went on I figured a variety of 2 3/4 recipes fit in 2 1/2 shells.
As a general rule I found most 1 oz and nearly all 7/8 loads fit in 2 1/2 hulls.
This is even more true if you roll crimp.
I sent you a PM on data |

That whole copyright law gets in the way of sharing the .pdf version.... i guess.
It's as much a sales brochure for BP inventory as it is a collection of recipes. I have it the Lyman 5th. Both have their value. Best advice is to study available recipes and then purchase components.
There is some 2 1/2 data on the Hodgdon site.
http://www.hodgdonreloading.com/data/shotgun
It's limited to 3/4 and 7/8 ounce loads in Cheddite hulls.
Cheers!

Yeah, I've see the Hodgdon website. I will be loading mostly 7/8 oz loads, but need some 1oz too- esp for shortened Fiocchi hulls. I have primed cheddite 2 1/2 in hulls, the data for them is plentiful. I'm using up my last lb of PB next, so I will be looking to change powders too I guess later. |

Mine went in the trash.
I don’t load 2.5” shells, but found the data for 2.75” worthless. |

As With most of BP maunuals and products don’t waste your money. I’ve bought several manuals from them. Most of the load data is specific to their wads. I honestly don’t trust most of the data. High velocities and probably pressures to match. |

Rule of thumb: On any given recipe that interests me odds are that I won't have at least one listed component. Gil |
