I was hoping for one with the gut hook also. Is that a dead horse now? |

PineCreek:
I wont know for certain about the Bird Hunter pattern as an option until tomorrow.
It will only be an option if it is available in inventory quantity from the distributor I'm working with.
I was not the one who posted the pic, someone else posted it as an example of the past 16ga knife.
The Bird Hunter pattern is not currently available from WR Case & Sons, it has been discontinued. They wont start up a batch just for us.
Fellas,
I will post more info as I get it. I still have cost of knife information to gather, and selection of Pattern and Handle materials to finalize. This will also be narrowed down now that I have approval of the logo use, which will only fit properly on the bolsters of the knife patterns that have been mentioned back on Page 8.
Theres a ways to go yet fellas and I will keep updates coming.
I am recording everyone's requests for a knife order as well as folks that are still trying to decide. I will make sure no one gets passed over. And before anything final happens, everyone will be notified, not to worry. |

[quote="dannypratt"]Hey fellas,
Well, so far we do have the OK for using the 16ga Society trademark logo, which is GREAT!
This is purely thanks to S_Long, and he has been super helpful. He really deserves more thanks than we give him, and I do know we all do give him thanks for all he does here.
Thanks fellas for the effort!!! At this point, DP, you've heard plenty of suggestions, don't let us get it too 'wormy' for you, I'll wager that most will be tickled with whatever the offering.
I'm thinking of getting two of these pocket knives as I have two boys. I'll let them lose a few others first, learn their lesoon. Then maybe when they're around 14 or 15 and have earned and saved enough money, I'll "sell" them one of my shooter quality 16's and gift the knife along with it as a package deal.

Just posting will put you on Danny’s list. He is going to contact all folks that posted an interest once he decides on model and specs.

I'm marking you guys down!
Keep it coming!
I'll have more details soon.
I will venture this....
I believe that for the cost of the knives (dont know how much yet, just guessing) they should definitely be 2 bladed pocket knives. In my opinion, a 2 bladed knife is much handier in the field. I carry a 3 blade Medium Stockman every day for my construction work, but unfortunately the bolsters are a bit too small for the engraving we are doing.
This brings us back to two bladed knives and these options:
Canoe, SaddleHorn, Trapper, and possibly the Mini Trapper (medium size in reality)
I'm leaning heavily towards the SaddleHorn. It's a fantastic set of blades for the hunter, and it is very unique for the knife enthusiast.
If lock blades are a better choice, this leaves us the Russlock, Trapperlock, and Mini Copperlock (medium size in reality)
I would lean towards the Russlock, as it is very unique and carries an excellent blade for hunters. 2nd choice would be the Mini CopperLock, very traditional, carries another great blade for the hunter.
The Trapperlock is a very nice knife, and contains a thumb stud opener. These are nice, but fairly modern in style and design
Any of the locking patterns start off in the area of 75.00 and go up from there. That's a little stiff for one blade, but it is lockable, which is a nice option.
Just some things to consider.
Still working on details and will update as I know more.
It has been suggested that perhaps we could do 2 knives, one a lock back, one a traditional pocket knife. I'm investigating this possibility.
Keep the requests and questions coming...no idea is unwelcome! |

I couldn't seem to get their website to work for me. No matter what category I chose, it would display the first page only and the rest rest were blank. Do they make a folding fillet knife? |
