Just purchased a 1100 16 gauge. Looking for a hull catcher so I can shoot without hitting my fellow trap shooters with my empties.

there actually have been at least 4 over the yrs .... most common is the flat clip on - 12ga should work . There used to be a pickle that replaced the bolt handle - rare and cool but hard to find . There's a tape on piece with a long wire that wraps around the receiver window - needs tuning but I use one on my 48 . You can put a stud in the barrel extension that knocks shells down to the ground . There's an L shaped wire that goes into holes drilled into the barrel extension that works great ... OR , the all time easiest (drum roll ) - take the rubber seal off your mag tube and your gun won't be able to shoot the empty out - manually cycle the action - easy peasy . (you can try the rubber band around the receiver and in front of the closed bolt , sometimes works , probably depends on the band)

Thanks for the suggested solutions. Hopefully I can make one of these work.

I have a 12ga clip-on from T&S on my 16ga 1100, works just fine.

I ordered one from T&S that came today. It looks like it will work. Thanks

I have read of people using a rare earth magnet on the side of a steel receiver to catch hulls. This obviously won't work on hulls with real brass instead of brass played steel. Has anyone tried it?

I tried the magnets also. I first used just one and moved it in several positions to catch the hull. It did not work. I tried two magnets and it still did not work. I was using my sweet 16 during this exercise. That gentleman that showed his video of the magnets working was fortunate. I bought the same magnets he was using.
