I had a friend call me the other day and ask if I wanted RIO 16 gauge ammo as it was on sale at Dick's, this one was located in Milford, CT

It was $2.97 a box for 1 oz. #7.5 shot, 1300 FPS. I had him buy all 14 boxes.

Maybe a Dick's store close to another member here might find a similar deal.

We should be so lucky. I don't patronize Dick's due to their caving to the "Left" but at that price, I'd take all I could get and leave with the satisfaction that I came out the winner.

Good find.

I like Rio products. If you are reloading those empties you will need Rio primers as they are a large diameter.

oldog,

The other thing I have done is deprime the hulls and shrink the primer pocket. That way I can use any primer that I want to use.

It is a bit of work, but for my 16 Gauge addiction........

Precision Reloading sells the tool.

I also shrink the primer pocket. Also i dont see any of the suppliers buying any rio 16 hull to sell. Now that their in Texas. I was told by them over a year ago they would be having the 16 hulls for suppliers. I dont see that happening.

Actually Rio primers are a very good primer at a good price. Far better then Cheddite and on par with Winchester and Federal as far as reliability. I use them in Cheddite/Fio hulls and in Federal when pockets enlarge.

I would like to point out that the RIO hulls offered by BPS come in either red or clear. I have found that the clear hulls offer the ability to observe wad position and powder migration issues.
