Fiocchi out...check.
Seems like I found a good write up some years ago that went into great detail about how to evaluate the different styles of shotgun shells for reloading potential. Now that I'm closer to actually caring, i can't find that article. It would make a very good sticky in this section of the forum. Wish someone who knew all the ins and outs of this question would post a write up here with pics. |

So far I haven't found any major differences with the euro hulls, but have not tried Fiocchi in 16 ga. yet. I have used them in 12 ga. though. Primer pocket size is the only real issue I see. My old paper basewad Federals rank about the same.
I finally got my hands on a big enough stash of RGL's to be worth loading them and will say that they load up and crimp nicer than all but Win CF's. I have heard conflicting reports as to the durability of this hull. How hot you load them likely makes a big difference. I still like loading Win CF hulls load the best, but those are not always the best choice for some of my loads, and they are not easy to find. They do last a long time though. |

I like Federals and Green Remingtons with the Remingtons having a slight edge. The only thing bad about RGL's is they are a bit shorter and reguire a press adjustment. Federals are the prettier though. |

Given the two options IMO the Fio's will allow more reloads. Once you work past the primer size thing they're fine and load the same as Ched's. The Fed's seem to crack and the primer pockets leak within a couple reloads for me.
Ask 5 different people' opinion and get 6...
WARNING!!! The RST hulls are absolutely terrible, especially the lavender colored ones, send them all to me and I'll recycle appropriately kidding aside, for 5/8-7/8oz ammo IMO they can't be beat. |
