^^^^^^^^^what he said^^^^^^^^

I really enjoy my "new" Sweet 16 .

What is the velocity of 7/8 oz load that functioned in your gun ?? If you don't mind please share the data .

I think about 1300 but trying to find my notes. Got it from here but cannot find the thread, should be in my reloading room “somewhere”.

found my notes.this load is in the spreadsheets
Cheddite hull, Ched 209 primer
International powder 20.0 grains, SG16 wad
listed at 1380 fps and 10000psi.

Really don't need 1390fps
I am going to load a few around 1250-1300 and see if they will cycle.

Doing a little math, if energy=MassXacceleration(Squared).
1 oz at 1150 fps should be equal in energy to 7/8oz at 1230fps. I'll do a few test loads and see what happens.

For almost 20 years I was one of those that shot 3/4 oz. or 7/8 oz. in everything up to including the 12 ga. Started when lead broke $9 a bag. It wasn't until I got my A5 Sweet 16 that I changed my thought process. And attending enough shoots based on ga. lately.

If I am shooting a 16 I am shooting 1 oz. if at all possible. And 1 1/8 oz. in the 12. And 7/8 oz. in the 20. I am very recoil sensitive and the Sweet 16 handles recoil extremely well IMO. Yes I have a couple thousand lime green cheddite hulls with 7/8 oz. in DR16 wads for some of my 16's. But am moving toward 1 oz. loads for the 16 for the most part especially in the A5 Sweet.

Just my 2 cents worth and a fairly recent revelation. Well not too recent. Have yet to met an AA27AA ATA shooter that says they shoot even 1 oz. They will tell you the reason they shoot 1 1/8 oz. is because they will not let them shoot 1 1/4 oz. Not that I am a Class A or better ATA shooter and prefer skeet, SC or 5 stand over trap any day of the week. But the principle theory and application still applies. Again just my 2 cents worth.

And yes kinetic energy is still E ∝ mv^2
