Actually Mike, Dr 16g is much too modest. We both were intermittantly shooting single shots Mad when the top brl hammer of his Sissytori was light striking and my LC safety was resetting after the first shot (now that does wonderful things for a flinch.) I totally blew my one chance at a true pheasant double and Dr 16g cleaned up the second bird.
And he made one of the best 40 yard quail shots I've ever seen Shocked
Anyway-it was a real pleasure hunting together and knowing that at least most of the birds the dogs showed us were going to get dropped by one of us.

My friends have never accused me of being too modest about my shooting. What a nice thing to say about Doc16. Are you going back to Kansas this year or are you hunting quail in Arizona?

I envy Doc16gauge as I have got cabin fever. Better freezing in Kansas than decaying on the couch. I couldn't get anyone to go with me to Southern New Mexico. I could have gone North to Kansas but everyone was afraid of the roads and I didn't want to go by myself. I am going to have to find some hunting buddies with less wisdom and character and more hunting drive - yeah thats it. If I could find a buddy with Beau's hunting drive I could go every day. No more "I have to work" or "I told my wife I would take down the christmas decorations" or "I don't want to get stuck in a snow drift and be a burden to those poor people digging out" or "All the highways are closed and I don't want to drive to Kansas on the county roads" or "My wife is in for back surgery". Nope, if they had Beau's drive they would go when the chance presented itself.

Smile Mike

Mike and revdocdrew:

On Sunday Vic and I shot 6 roosters (4 mine) and 9 quail ( 5 mine). Drew - Stuart hunted with us this afternoon and shot one rooster at 45 yards Shocked

We saw a lot of birds again today - these pointing labs are awesome Cool

Gemini Cricket Doc16!

What a great day. I am getting itchy - I am going to Southwest Kansas this weekend and hunt WIH. You are getting me all fidgety and anxious.

Mike
