For those interested. I've seen this gun. Also has articulated front trigger. Somewhat hard to find.

Any comments on weight/balance?

I’m assuming this is a GDR made gun with 1955 production, correct?

Thanks,

Dean

Believe it is about 6.5 lbs, not counting the sling. Mint bores. No idea about GDR. Don't believe that was marked on the barrels like I have seen with other Merkels.

ps. Seemed balanced to me. Not muzzlelight or butt heavy.

I have a very similar 16 gauge that was made by J. Saive in Belgium. It’s in much better condition and 6lbs maybe a bit less with 26” barrels, articulated front trigger, ejectors, and nice wood. It also has the solid rib. I’m considering selling it. This is my favorite style O/U. I’d like to turn it into a sxs.
