Well folks, like most of you I have extra time to work on projects. Earlier this week I spent three days building a manually operated multi stage gun stock milling machine. The entire dual mill system also rotates around the center drum.

I still have a few minor changes to make to the router head for visibility reasons. The head plate has already been trimmed, but the router sleeve is stopping the tool from going as deep as I need. It does work well enough that I cut a beavertail forearm for the Fox Sterlingworth today.

That’s pretty slick and show us the fore end when you finish it, or better yet as you make progress.

Good Hunting,

Really slick. being a former machinist, I love it.

Metal and I have a great relationship.

Wood and I have agreed that if it is anything more than a doghouse I should leave it to folks with better fine motor skills.

Nice. I've inletted a few rifle stocks on my milling machine with good success, but watching Wenig make me a new butt stock for my 16 ga TriStar Brittany using their stock duplicator was a real eye opener. I was in there at 0700 and out by 1100 with my new fitted butt stock ready to sand, finish and checker. The chips sure fly when they get to work.

Nice piece of work.
The devil is in the inletting. Once you have that right, you can do the shaping with an angle grinder. Might not be the best solution if you're looking to make an exact duplicate, but it does work.
