I have 300 plus of green Remington, black Remington, purple Federal, and some old Peters blue hulls. They are once or twice fired. What are the worth? I am in southern Ohio
Been awhile since I been on here
Thanks in advance

At least the Peters blue hulls probably use the old Remington #57 size primer, which has not been made for several years. The green and black Rems could possibly use the #57 primer depending on how old they are, but probably use a 209 size primer (available) if they are relatively new. As far as I know, Federal has always used a 209 primer.
Most reloaders probably have no use for the Peters hulls (although some, like me, have scrounged old 57 primers and still occasionally reload a few), but the others have some value if they use 209 primers. Most are priced from 5 to 10 cents each when I see them advertized, but shipping cost can be substantial. However, hulls are advertised on this and other shotgun sites from time to time. |

I'm a sucker for Peter's hulls, blue Hi Velocities or red Victors. I'll even shoot Remingtons as long as they are green Express or red ShurShots. I have a couple thousand Remington/Peters 57 size primers, and some CCI 157's -- Remington 57 equivalents. |

MSM,
I'm with you. I love the old translucent Peters/Rem hulls, where one can see through the plastic to the innards of the load! The Rem Shur Shots are my favorite. I don't think I have any left, but I used to have a lot of them that were brush loads from the factory, with what looked like 3 or 4 over the powder wads with shot between the OPWs. I load up some of these old shells from time to time usually with fiber wads--when I ain't loading up old paper hulls! Nostalgia, I guess. |
