I have never owned anything but 16 gauges, but could not pass up acquiring a J.C. Higgins model 20 in 12 gauge. It appears to be circa 1956-1960. My question is regarding the choke. Did High Standard make their own chokes, or did Lyman supply this choke or another company? My research could not find an answer, but I did see a photo of a Lyman choke that looks identical. There are three marks - full, modified, and improved cylinder. With the wealth of knowledge on this site, I hope someone may have answers. Thank you.

That is a Poly-Choke with a unique outer nut.

Thank you very much. I had no idea of the many configurations of polychoke.

It is High Standard's own 6-Stop Adjustable Choke.
