Anybody tried TSS? Have any reloaders taken out a bank loan for the shot?
Like the non-toxic vibe Burt the price is a little steep. My pheasant and quail hunting area is close to a river, so maybe should consider as I am not a steel shot fan. Maybe a duck in the bag also? |

Might try it for turkeys at some point but not for any type of volume shooting. Bismuth works just fine for that application. |

I have patterned TSS in several different shotguns. With a Turkey choke in will kill turkeys out to 50 yd. In 16 gauge of course. |

TSS would be a good idea re quail.....you don't want them to get a second wind. |

My son used TSS in .410 to harvest his turkey this spring during the youth season. Combined a Jebs choke and #9 TSS, in the BPS to harvest a 23lbs bird at 15 yards. Beautiful patterns!!
He is halfway through his bucket list of harvesting a turkey with each gauge BPS. The 20ga, 10ga, and 410 are in the books. Leaving the 28ga, 16ga and 12ga.
Unless someone decides to factory produce these offering, I figure I'll have to roll my own loads for the 28ga or 16ga this winter. I'll probably buy a pound of TSS to experiment with. |

If your looking to use it for pheasants and ducks I don’t think you wanna use anything like apex or any of the tss offerings really. For use like that I think you would have to roll your own, and for that use guy’s usually duplex the tss with steel shot. I think the guys you would buy your tss from will have that load data as well. |

Yes, I load TSS in the small guns, for turkeys. It works great, but very expensive. Shot my first bird of this year with an old A5 standard 16. TSS #9 is the real deal! |

I used some of the Kent bismuth last season in 28 and 16 on ducks. It worked great still got a bunch left that I'll shoot this year is certain places. |

I've been loading TSS for turkeys for over 10 seasons. I've also handloaded 3/4 oz. Steel #3 with 1/4 oz. #9 in 20 ga. for ducks. The turkey loads allow me to use smaller gauges with lighter loads than with conventional lead loads. Gil |
