Uncle Dan Fan,

Looks like a beautiful LeFever Hammer Gun, maybe even a 16 gauge!

You're right, it does look like a Lefever. It's actually an Husqvarna 103A 12b. I'm currently Lefever-less at the moment, but I'm sure that will change. Very Happy

Hard to believe but this far into December and no snow! I am knocking on wood as I type this!

Took my recently acquired 16ga Husky 36 out for a spin, using 2.5" roll crimped ITX #4 reloads. I LOVE this gun! Looking forward to re-working the wood and refinishing the barrels in the off season.

As always Mark pictures to make us drool. The hammer gun Gods seems to smile on you. Can always count on you to find some rare and exquisite jewel to share with us. Your gracious chance to own a certain little Belgium hammer gun years ago has made me a hammer gun addict for the rest of my hunting life.

Not exactly 16 gauges, but if one averages the top gun, a 12, with the 20 ga., that's 16.
Yesterday's bag here in the lowcountry of Georgia. Top gun is a 1930s "no name" 2" 12 ga., most likely by Skimin & Wood with 28" barrels. Shoots 7/8 oz. handloads. At 5.5 lbs., it's the lightest double I own. Bottom gun is Floyd's Ithaca SKB 100 20 ga. Gil

Here is a pic of a 5x6 bull elk that had been wounded before I encountered it early on October 5th. I was anticipating hunting in the thick timber with my 44 magnum rifle, but at legal shooting light he was slowly crossing an open sagebrush park in front of my pickup at about 150 yards. Not typical elk behavior at all. I shot three times before he entered the lodgepole. I was confident I had hit him only once. I waited an hour and entered the trees where he did. Fifty yards inside the tree line I found him lying, unable to rise. I ended his suffering then. He had been shot previously shot through one of the tenderloins not hitting the spine. Not sure how that could have happened, but it did. One of my shots had hit him in the paunch (not my finest shooting) but it was enough to make him lie down so that I could finish him

The mighty sweet 16 strikes again.

I also killed a basket rack 6 pointer but forgot to take pictures. Doh!

I did however snap a picture of what happened immediately after I shot. On the way to the tree I climbed up I set my gun case down where I thought was out of the way, about 30 yards from the tree behind a brush pile. Well, I shot him and he ran right over top of it.

This has been a fun thread, lots of great pictures.

Wanted to put my Husky 16 through its paces, and took a limit of ducks with it using 2.5" ITX reloads. Shots are generally close to medium range, over dekes in my layout boat. I love duck hunting this way. Birds seem to work so much closer than other types of duck hunting. Laying there, sipping coffee, watching swarms of birds work your spread, completely unaware that you're lying there... what could be better?

I'm having so much fun with this husky hammer gun! I've only had it a short time, and I've owned a ton of guns over the years, seeing as how I make part of my living buying and selling, but this Husky 36 may be my all time favorite.
