Inletting depth will be the primary concern if the stock is the issue. The depth of inletting under the top tang and under the trigger plate, and more importantly the space between the two, will affect sear engagement and safety engagement as well.

The other issue with inletting can be insufficient clearance, allowing a sear or striker (hammer) to rub. There's only one way to check these things, and it requires proper fitting screwdriver bits plus careful technique to avoid buggering the screw slots. If a problem really exists, the stock must come off for inspection.
