Hammer Bill,
I don’t suppose you have similar pages for 16 do you? I was given a hogshead or firkin-like drum of Red Dot that has been sitting on the shelf for years. I may need to crack it open now that my 800-X is disappearing forever.
Thanks
B.

Brewster, no I don't. But I'll bet the low pressure group have some for the 16.

Good luck trying to find those old primers--109's and 97's, Fed 209, NOT 209A

If you look at my post on 1/6 titled Herco, you'll see a reply at the bottom where Dave in AZ kindly provided a link to various years of Alliant s books.

3BD,

CCI 109 and CCI 209 are the same primer. (CCI 209M is different however.

B11,

The Alliant Reloaders Guide I have lists 3 Red Dot loads for 16 gauge:

--- 2 3/4 Fiocchi, 2 1/2 drams eq; 1 oz shot; 1165 fps; Fio 616; WAA16; 15.5 gr. Red Dot; 10, 400 psi.

--- 2 3/4 Fiocchi; 2 1/2 dram eq.; 1 oz shot; 1165 fps; Fio 616; Activ G28; 17.0 gr. Red Dot; 10000 psi.

-- 2 /4 Activ; 2 1/2 dram eq.; 1 oz shot; 1165 fps; CCI 209; Activ G28; 16.5 gr. Red Dot; 10100 psi.

If I'm not mistaken, Activ G28 and Gul. SG16 are the same wad.

I have been reloading 17 gr. Red Dot in paper hulls with fiber wads, 1 0z. of birdshot and CCI 109 (CCI209) primers for several years with good results. This is a variation of an old Alcan recipe.

18 grains red dot in fed paper with win 209 and fiber wads was my last load with 1 oz shot.
