After fixing this up, I was offered the gun of my dreams six months later, and so it just isn't getting used as much as it deserves. With it's rare and lively 30" barrels, and only weighing 6lbs 1oz, this beautiful little H&H back action 16ga sidelock ejector is the proverbial magic wand. I've been shooting it for about a year and rarely miss with it. Barrels are in great shape with light mod/improved mod chokes, very good bores, no dents, and 2.75" chambers. Minimum wall thickness is .021 at halfway down each tube. Gun has 1oz nitro proofs. Wood has been extensively upgraded with an extension added to custom heel and toe plates, gold leafed H&H logo, gold vine embellishment, and upgraded grain pattern to make the extension invisible. Barrels and receiver appear to have been refinished at some point, with some pitting evident on the receiver metal underneath the tasteful case coloring. The gun has tight lockup with lever right of center, excellent mechanics, and strong, well timed ejectors.
This is a one of a kind work of art, a stunning gun with no issues, and gets tons of "Wow" compliments. That said, if you desire a more understated, traditional look, the gold embellishment can be removed at no extra charge (please allow one week extra). I bought this gun for $4k and have put well over $1k in stock work into it.
I've been asking over $6k for it, but I'll let it go here to society members for $5,200 obo. Please pm me or email at mark@marklarsonart.com for more pics or info.
Thank you-

After you nick naming this your white whale, I'm curious to know what the dream gun that took its place is! |

That would be this extremely rare model 36 jones underlever back action Husky hammer gun:
I just had the barrels re-browned, and I'm re-working the stock now. It's a blast to shoot. I really like the H&H too, but some major home repairs are forcing the issue for me. If I end up keeping it, that's fine too. It's a wonderful gun. |

Congratulations on the sale, I was so sorely tempted; it was all I could do to resist. |
