I see Cabelas has a 16-gauge Gran Lightning for $2200. Is that high or low or about right?

I've been eyeing one in my local Cabelamart...It's new and has been there for quite a while. Sticker is $2699! Does that psychological pricing still work...sounds like $2700 to me Laughing

That’s a good price, but I’d look at the wood before buying. Some grans have so/so wood, some are spectacular.

that's what kept me from snatching up the one I found...it just doesn't have that "pop" when you eye it. Isn't it surprising how they can be so different. to each his own i guess.

They all have “spectacular” wood, if you are selling.

They are really nice guns. I'm enjoying mine quite a bit right now with lots of off-season clays shooting. It makes up for the 20-gauge Gran Lightning I sold several years ago and always regretted.

The beauty of a modern 16 gauge is all the modern shells and nontoxic ammo options it can accommodate. I tend to baby my other, older 16s with light loads, RSTs and the like but the Gran Lightning can eat it all and do it all from doves to ducks -- and do it with a little bit of style. And it's just heavy enough where it's enjoyable to shoot on the sporting clays course without beating you up like some of the really light 16 gauge field guns.

Not a Gran lightning, but Grade 3 listed on GB, (No connection or interest to seller or gun).
